Pre Nursery

Welcome to the Pre-Nursery Class at Nadeen School!

Welcome to the Pre-Nursery.

Our aim is to create a secure and happy environment for your children, to ensure that they enjoy their first experience away from home. Please read the following information carefully.

Class Timings

Pre-Nursery children should be taken directly to the classroom and collected from the classroom. In order to make sure all of the children settle and adjust to school happily, we would appreciate your flexibility during the first few weeks when asked to drop off and collect your child. Your class teacher will advise timings, and this will aid the “settling in” process.

Some children will cope with longer days and some will ease more easily in to the school routine by starting off with shorter days. You will be contacted before school starts to advise you of your first day of school.

After School Care (available ONLY from Ocober)

For those children with older siblings in school who finish at 12.30pm or 1.00pm, an after-school care program is available for you, from 12 noon to 12.30pm or 12.00 noon to 1.00pm. There is a charge for this facility and rates can be obtained from the school office.

Clothing

It will help your child when visiting the bathroom if his/her clothing can be removed easily. Please do not put your child in clothing that you do not want spoiling, as we do a great deal of messy painting, art activities, water and sand play – plastic aprons are not always completely protective.

School Supply Bag

A School Bag for your child is available from the office, and we ask that ALL parents purchase one. This bag will then become your child’s personal supply bag.

In it, we would like you to store extra clothing and ‘cleaning’ supplies, such as nappies, baby wipes, and any other supplies you may use when s/he becomes dirty.

At the end of each day, before you collect your child, we would like you to check your child’s bag to see if it needs filling up with extra supplies or clothes.

Photos and Labelling

Please send in to school 2 passport-size photos of your child in order to clearly label their lunchbox cubbyhole and their supply-bag hooks.

Please CLEARLY LABEL ALL items that belong to your child; all items of clothing, his/her lunchbox (and any plastic containers within), supplies, etc. This will avoid items becoming mislaid or lost.

Thank you for your co-operation. We look forward to being with your child this year.

With warm regards from the Pre-Nursery Staff
