Nadeen School, established in 1978, is a Primary School, consisting of Pre-School, Infant, and Junior sections, with classes from Pre-Nursery through to Year 6. Children attend the school from 2-11 years of age. Nadeen School was established in 1978. We follow the British Curriculum, and supplement our activities and learning with different curriculum from Australian and New Zealand schemes. We are, along with two other British Curriculum schools in Bahrain, a registered member of the British Schools of the Middle East (BSME) association.
We currently have 330 children enrolled in the school from 51 countries, and the mix of children creates a happy atmosphere where different cultures mix and learn from each other. We have over 45 full time staff and additional part-time and support staff mainly from the UK, Ireland, America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
We use three major and several supplementary mathematics schemes, four major and several supplementary reading and language schemes, and a large variety of resources and equipment to encourage lateral and upward extension of children's abilities.
Our class work is mostly topic/theme based with a strong emphasis placed on language, expression, imagination, art, and music. History, Geography, Art-and-Craft, and Science and Technology are incorporated into these centers of interest, as well as taught separately. Music, Drama, PE, Cooking, and Library are in the weekly syllabus for all children. The children are taught in whole-class, group, and individual sessions.
We have recently added an English as a Second Language program for students who require extra assistance. Please see "Language Support" for more details. We also have access to a team of specialists for Speech and Language Therapy, Special Needs Support, Learning Support, and Individual Education Programs.

Pauline Puri has been the Principal of Nadeen School since 1984. Originally from Australia, Pauline moved to Bahrain with her family in the early 1980's and joined Nadeen School shortly after arriving. Pauline's dedication to the children and the school has ensured that, while the school has grown dramatically over the years, it has never lost it's warm, caring, and nurturing atmosphere.
"As we celebrate the school's 30th Anniversary this year, I sit back and think of all the wonderful children, parents, staff, and friends who have passed through Nadeen's doors over the years. Every staff member has contributed to a child's development and growth, every parent has given suggestions, offered help, and supported the school in order for it to grow, and every child has given something to all of us and added to Nadeen's unique and friendly atmosphere.
